God made woman beautiful and foolish; beautiful, that man might love her; and foolish, that she might love him.

First Hellos Are Always The Hardest

Even though I have had this blog setup for weeks (perhaps months, but who's counting?), I found today a more than appropriate day to actually begin. I have sat here before with this little box open, my fingers poised at the keys, ready to relay the word to the keyboard like a miniature dance along my fingers; ten tiny (naked) fox trotters. Someone always comes along, or Curtis turns his attention from his own pc to mine. I don't mind that people know I write. But for whatever reason I cannot write a single word of meaning of people see me write.

But I am alone for the first part of today, and, as I stated, today seemed an appropriate day to start. The 232nd birthday of my country, with all of it's bright eyed aggressiveness and youthful charm. Also the 3rd anniversary of Curtis and I. It may not seem like a long time, but when you have been with someone since you timidly stepped out of adolescence, it is a large milestone.

Since reading about someone in short blurbs instead of in long paragraph form is more fun, and because the teenybopper inside of me loves this sort of thing, I bring you:

ABOUT ME
Eye Color
Grey. Almost blue if you took away the dark grey in the center and along the rim.

Hair Color
Dark blonde. With the summer along, I look forward to the lighter steaks the sun makes.

Height
Short. Enough to more than ruin my modeling aspirations.

Favorite Color
Silver. I guess that's gray in most cases, but adding a sparkle to any color makes it more.

Favorite Band
I was never one of those music snobs. Right now I'm listening to Radiohead's 'Pyramid Song' when I'm feeling alone. 'Sugar, We're Going Down' or 'Hey Yeah' are appropriate driving in the summer songs. And after work it's a mix of NIN and SOAD.

Favorite Movie
I could watch 'Memoirs of a Geisha' everyday.

Favorite TV Show
I like TV in general. I'm not really picky about what makes me go off into that wonderful dreamworld.

Your Car
Grand Am. I never thought I'd own a white car, but he's alright. I try to take car of him as best I can, but there's only so much you can do to an old car that you drive everyday.

Your Hometown
A small township outside of Detroit. I read in a book once the perfect description of my town's size: 'Small enough to know everyone, but big enough to pretend you don't.'

Your Present Town
See above ^

Your Crush's First Name
I have always called him Curtis. Everyone else calls him Curt. But I have found a happiness in being the only one to use his full name when I do say it. Usually his name is Baby. Which looks silly on paper, but we have almost three years invested in this pet name and I'm not really to give it up.

Your Style
Right now it's terribly mismatched. Grey sweatpants and a red tank top. But usually I choose jeans and a tshirt with flip-flops or my vans.

HAVE YOU EVER
Sat on your rooftop
Last night, driving home I asked Curtis how easy it was to get onto his roof. The town was putting on a fireworks show less than a mile away and there's something to be said for being 12 feet closer to the sky.

Danced in a public place
Not that I remember. Unless you count dance clubs.

Smiled for no reason
I feel that no one on this planet can feel any emotion 'for no reason'. Have a I ever smiled for a reason only I know? Yes.

Laughed so hard you cried
Everytime I watch America's Funniet Home Videos and they do the sequences with either babies or animals.

Written a song
Poetry is more my forte. I feel that when the words themselves carry enough power, the dance isn't needed.

Sang to someone for no reason
I sing to my dashboard daily. I sing to my niece and nephew.

Performed on a stage
Perhaps when i was younger and less shy.

Talked to someone you don't know
I seem to be a magnet for people in public to talk to me. In line at the grocery store, watching the news at school, etc. People generally feel the need to bond, and I like that I look nice enough to chat with.

Been in love
We laugh at the same parts in movies.

CAN YOU
Write with both hands
No.

Whistle
Yes.

Blow a bubble
With gum, I prefer snapping my gum to bubbles.

Cross your eyes
Yes.

Touch your tongue to your nose
No.

Speak a different language
I can say "I do not speak French" in French.

Cook anything
I love to bake. I love the way the oven makes a hoopla of ingredients make my house small delicious.

FINISH THE SENTENCE
If I were a ...
If I were a mermaid, you were the sea. Thank you mrs. block. For filling my world with the words before I knew I had them.

I wish ...
I wish I could find the motivation to start my day.

So many people don't know ...
So many people don't know where they are going in life. And that makes me so sad. The path is laid out before you! All you have to do is follow it!

I am ...
I am currently alone.

My heart is ..
My heart is beating.

There you have it. All about me and mine. Have a fun and safe fourth. Put on sunscreen.
